Black Heritage Parade & Festival - 02/18/12

The 21st Annual Black Heritage Parade & Festival will be held on Feb. 18th. The parade line up will begin at 9 a.m. at Blountstown Middle School on Main Street (across from post office). The parade will begin at 10 a.m. It will end at Clay Mary Historical Park on River Street, where the festival will be held.

65th Annual Chamber Membership Banquet - 02/23/12

The Calhoun County Chamber of Commerce will host its 65th Annual Membership Banquet on Thursday, Feb. 23 at the W.T. Neal Civic Center. The event will begin with a reception and art exhibit at 6 p.m.
The dinner and ceremony will begin promptly at 7 p.m. Several prestigious awards will be presented, including Citizen of the Year.
Tickets are available from Chamber board members, the Chamber office, or online at www.calhounco.org for $25 each. Tickets must be purchased in advance, and no tickets will be sold at the door. The deadline for purchase of tickets is Friday, Feb. 17th.

Pioneer Settlement In Need Of Rummage Sale Items
The Panhandle Pioneer Settlement will be having its annual Rummage Sale on March 3rd, 6th, 8th, 9th, 10th, 2012 we are asking for your slightly used and unwanted items. We will be taking donations until Wednesday February 29, 2012. Call the office between 8-2 at 850-674-2777 to schedule your drop off or pick up of the items you would like to donate.
The Panhandle Pioneer Settlement is a living museum documenting rural life in NW Florida since the early 1800’s. It is located in Sam Atkins Park, about 1 mile west of the intersection of Hwy 71 and Hwy20. Follow HWY 20 West out of Blountstown. Look for signs for Sam Atkins Park. Turn North at Lindy’s Fried Chicken (Silas Green St.). Follow the signs.
